Sunday Service

Hymn #5

A voice from heaven we have heard,
The call to rise from earth;
Put armor on, the sword now gird,
And for the fight go forth.
The foe in ambush claims our prize,
Then heed high heaven's call.
Obey the voice of Truth, arise,
And let not fear enthrall.

The cause requires unswerving might:
With God alone agree.
Then have no other aim than right;
End bondage, O be free.
Depart from sin, awake to love:
Your mission is to heal.
Then all of Truth you must approve,
And only know the real.
(The Christian Science Hymnal, No.  5)

Hymn #85

  God of Truth, eternal good,
Lift our hearts to revelation,
That Thou mayst be understood,
Thou, the Rock of our salvation;
All Thy love we have for loving,
All Thy truth is ours for proving.

Open now our eyes to see,
As the clouds of sense are riven,
We behold reality,
Know the glory of Thy heaven;
So we seek Thy perfect healing
Through the Truth of Thy revealing.

All the way that we must go
We will take at Thy direction,
Where the floods of trouble flow
Find Thy perfect, calm reflection;
On the path that has no turning,
Patience, courage, meekness learning.
(The Christian Science Hymnal, No.  85)

Hymn #568

Saw ye my Saviour? Heard ye the glad sound?
Felt ye the power of the Word?
'Twas the Truth that made us free,
And was found by you and me
In the life and the love of our Lord.

Mourner, it calls you, - "Come to my bosom,
Love wipes your tears all away,
And will lift the shade of gloom,
And for you make radiant room
Midst the glories of one endless day."

Sinner, it calls you, - "Come to this fountain,
Cleanse the foul senses within;
'Tis the Spirit that makes pure,
That exalts thee, and will cure
All thy sorrow and sickness and sin."

Strongest deliverer, friend of the friendless,
Life of all being divine:
Thou the Christ, and not the creed;
Thou the Truth in thought and deed;
Thou the water, the bread, and the wine.
(The Christian Science Hymnal, No.  568)

Wednesday Meeting

Hymn #587

There is a presence walks with us
On every pathless way,
A light outshining midday sun
However dark the day.

We reach our hand-and feel God near;
We cry-and She replies.
We open eyes that sense had dimmed;
We stretch our wings and rise

Above the mist, above the dark,
Above the threats of fear,
Upheld by Love that never fails
And is forever near.

We cannot stray beyond Love's care,
For Love does fill all space;
And where we go the path is marked
By angels of Love's grace.

Hymn #485

God of creation and Lord of my soul,
Be to me ever my One and my All.
Your presence surrounds me by day and by night;
While waking or sleeping, I live in Your light.

You are my wisdom, and You are my wealth,
You are my substance, my joy, and my health,
My Father and Mother, my haven of peace,
My comfort, my healer, my place of release.

You and You only are first in my heart;
Ours is a union that never will part.
And held in Your love, without doubt, without fear,
I know now within me that heaven is here.

Hymn #478

From these Your children gathered in Your name,
From hearts made whole, from lips redeemed from woe,
Your praise, Almighty, shall forever flow.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

O perfect Life, in Your completeness held,
None can beyond Your omnipresence stray;
Safe in Your Love, we live and sing alway
Alleluia! Alleluia!

O perfect Mind, reveal Your likeness true,
That higher selfhood which we all must prove,
Joy and dominion, love reflecting Love.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

O Soul, inspiring-give us vision clear,
Break earth-bound fetters, sweep away the veil,
Show the new heaven and earth that shall prevail.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
